Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. Lewis Leads. December 05 2013

Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Stacy Lewis leads the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters tournament at the Emirates Golf Course, in UAE. Stacy Lewis / Getty Stacy leads the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters by jut one shot at  the of day two courtesy of her superb second round of -7 under par 65. She is currently at -9 under par for the tournament, and said it was her good putting that enabled her to ease away from the congested chasing pack; “The putts went in today. I made a little adjustment on the practice green and it seemed to work. I made a couple of long ones that I probably shouldn’t have made and it turned out to be a good day. On the longer putts the grip handle was stopping instead of keeping going so I changed that. I think I had 10 or 12 fewer putts and that made the difference. I think I had 24 putts today instead of 33. It played a lot shorter from the tee and most of the greens I could reach in two. The greens were firmer but I had shorter clubs. I’m going to have to keep going and take care of business but I prefer being where I am now to where I was last night.” Pernilla Lindberg is in second place at -8 under par, and Carlota Giganda is one shot further back on -7 under par, alone in third position. The only other player likely to contest the final round is Pornanong Phatlum, she is on her own in fourth position at -6 under par, the rest of the field are too far back to make a serious challenge. Unfortunately play was suspended before every one could complete their second rounds, this was due to darkness. Two groups, containing six players, will have to return tomorrow and complete their second rounds at 8 am, before the final round commences.
